I have been advised that Dan Keating passed away most likely from a heart attack on Sunday at Dubbo whilst he was entertaining – playing guitar etc.

It is believed that Dan has been “out of the job” since early 1990’s.

Further information will be posted as it becomes available.

May Dan forever Rest In Peace.

To our oldest and dearest mate, member and comrade, may you rest in peace Big Dan Keating. You not only gave US hours of musical pleasure but all that came to our shows. Nobody could do "Rambling Rose" the way you could Dan, it never failed to bring a tear to our eyes. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten! See you on the other side.

Daniel J. Keating may “possibly” be Daniel James KEATING who received the National Medal on 13 April 1994 and the 1st Clasp to the National Medal on 30 August 2000 – BUT this is UNCONFIRMED as of 5 April 2016.

FROM BLUE HOPE FB PAGE

Sue Jackson RIP …Thank you for your service Sir…thoughts and prays for his family, friends.

David Neville
David Neville To my beloved twin brother, whose first post was Mt Isa, from where he spent extended times at Doomagee, an Aboriginal mission which is the toughest beat in Qld. As a trainee constable he had to deal with high threat situations with little backup on a daily basis which is something the most experienced veterans would struggle with. He paid a significant emotional toll. Throughout his near 20 years of service, like all police he dealt with traumatic and dangerous situations. Unfortunately the dark forces of PTSD had a debilitating impact on him and he was medically retired. He gave the best years of his life to the QPS and the community of Queensland.
I loved you with all my heart and I am proud to have served with you.
David Neville, Inspector, QPS.

But when you go through the other side, it will be all sunshine – your band will be playing rock n roll, Uncle En will be cutting hair, Mother Cumillus will be the principal, and Potato Point will be offshore, 6 foot & tubing every day. All will be good. Sayonara brother, and be in peace. Damian Lucantonio & family
